Tonie Willis is the Founder and Executive Director of Ardella’s House, a residential facility for formerly incarcerated women. Their goal was to make it feel like home for people coming out of prison and provide ongoing support to decrease recidivism.

“You can’t accomplish anything if you don’t have a clean place to live,” says Tonie Willis, who founded the organization in 2010, after helping a formerly incarcerated friend and learning about the lack of reentry resources for women, in particular
Ardella’s House is now located in a newly rehabbed three-story house in North Philadelphia, Women have their own room and are near a park for walks in nature. Willis wants to expand to 12 reentry houses across the city, as well as a workforce development center. There's such a big need for reentry support for women in Philadelphia, and beyond.
