Ken Oliver, the Executive Director of Checkr.org says that “hiring workers with conviction histories not only creates a more inclusive, diverse workforce, it unlocks a powerful talent pool. System-impacted individuals are a proven asset for teams and employers as a whole—their perspectives and experiences can shape and improve business outcomes and they are committed to the work they’re doing and to the companies they serve.”
Checkr conducted a survey, with 1,200 employees and 400 executives working for companies with more than 500 workers. The goal is to reflect on employer diversity, equity, and inclusion and uncover their perceptions of fair-chance hiring. Some of the key findings of the report include:
Employers have much more work to do to improve diversity, equity and inclusion on their workplace. Fair-chance hiring can help.
Hiring people with barriers to employment is profitable for businesses.
4 in 5 executives express interest in fair-chance hiring and upgrading their technology and processes to be able to do that.
“At Checkr, we’ve seen first-hand how fair chance talent can drive business outcomes. Together, we’re working to create a more equitable future for every American.”- Ken Oliver, the Executive Director of Checkr.org
